About The Artist
Valerie Miller Born and raised in the Midwest of the United States, Valerie Miller grew up surrounded by farms and animals. At an early age she developed a fascination with cattle that she carried with her through college while studying art at Bradley University and business at the University of Iowa.Immersed in the urban landscape while in college, Valerie Miller began painting cows void of their usual rural surroundings like she then found herself. Today her paintings isolate individual cows from the herd, showing the character of each cow against a vivid background with an absence of location. Valerie owns and operates (STEEL COW) gallery & studios located in Northeast Iowa. Valerie was most recently chosen to exhibit at Bradford Brinton Museum in Wyoming and has been featured in Teton Home & Living Magazine, KCRG-TV9 news, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, Lacrosse Tribune and countless other publications. Original paintings by Valerie Miller can be found in art collections worldwide, and her collection of signed & framed cow prints can be found in the Iowa Artisans Gallery. The artist will be happy to create a portrait of your favorite pet. Commissions are accepted. Please contact the gallery for more information. |
