About The Artist

Alicia Klein

Alicia KleinIn early 1987, Alicia Klein co-founded Vallavista Corporation with aspirations of creating a national marketing and brand development firm. By the end of the first year, the fledgling company counted several international brands under it representation, in addition to introducing to the world, for the first time, a little wallet they created and dubbed the Original Taxi Wallet.

Growing up in the Midwest as the big sister in a large, close-knit family, Alicia Klein worked her way through college, graduated from the University of Iowa, and moved with her husband to the Bay Area of California. Fresh out of college and working in San Francisco for Burberry’s of London, Alicia found that her innate sense of clean, elegant style coalesced around an appreciation for the fine materials and construction she discovered at Burberry’s. “It was not Kate Moss and bikini Burberry’s back then; it was still the Queen’s Burberry,” notes Alicia, who credits her mother for her sense of style and her father for her work ethic.
